Arrogant
I read a lot about the emerging church. A lot.I keep reading the anti-emergents accuse emergents of "arrogance."
Honestly, the only arrogance I see/hear/read is from those who spend huge amounts of time and effort hung up on the emerging church and its growing membership.
Prove me wrong.
You know, it's no wonder so many people despise Christians. The loudest and most vocal Christians seem to despise everyone, even each other. Should we expect the world to view Christianity with any less hostility that those among us spew? It's enough to make even this guy, from a conservative Christian background, leave it all.
Fortunately I have the insight and faith to know that Jesus came in spite of your legalism and anger.
Lot's of hits here from you guys recently. Don't bother emailing me with your venom. I find that its easier to talk rationally with a 2-year-old than those who have twisted the message of Jesus in such a hateful way. You do more to harm the message than you know (or care).
As for me, I'd rather be a part of a Christian community that is defined by what it stands for rather than what it stands against.
